Warblers and Vireos – Monthly Meeting

Zoom Online

Most of the migrants have probably moved through, but that doesn't mean we can talk about our Warbler and Vireo summer residents! Everyone is welcome to join us for our May Monday Monthly Meeting (alliteration is fun) as we discuss tips to identify warblers and vireos by sound and sight. To make sure Paige, MYBC Coordinator, doesn't talk too much and to hear some new voices, come prepared to share some fun facts and ID tips about your favorite warbler or vireo. This is not required to join in on the meeting, but we would love to hear what you have to share.  Register for the virtual meeting here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZcqf-mgqT4iH9UfbY6FwL3Vany17IxBY4tT

Guest Speaker on Bird Nesting!

Zoom Online

Join us for our June Monday Monthly Meeting with guest speaker, Kelly Koch! Kelly is an interpreter at the Ozark Chinquapin Nature Center located in Roaring River State Park. She grew up learning about birds in her grandmothers’ gardens. Today Kelly leads hikes, field trips and games that help her visitors learn about natural resources and Roaring River State Park History. Kelly is going to be teaching us about the unique architecture and building materials of bird’s nests. Imagine building your very own room out of mud! Or weaving a cozy home where you could protect your chicks. Birds have all sorts of tricks they use to protect their young.  After the program, Kelly will encourage club members to go out into their own backyard for a bird’s nest scavenger hunt.  After collecting materials as a bird would, we will craft our own bird nest!  We hope that club members will complete the activity and share their creations after the presentation.  Register for the virtual event here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMlcu6tqDgtG9W1tr-_KactWjLNr1lewKQA
